The DW Assassin is a great class if used in the right order and if you have the right perks. Ive played as a DW Assassin for my majority of my playthrough and I belive it is the most rewarding and most balanced class other than a 2H Reaver.
Templar + Rift Mage combo should help mitigating damage from enemy quiet a bit (they can CC, dispel hostile spell, weakened enemies.) As far as I'm aware, I haven't heard anything about specializations affecting character interaction. Minus blood mages/actual mages, I suppose. Also, you're not the "Seeker." The Seekers are a part of what used to be the Chantry. Cassandra Pentaghast is a Seeker. As the player, you're going to be the head of the Inquisition. You're the Inquisitor. CDZq.
